FAQs

  • All of our cattle spend 80% of their lives on grass right here at the ranch. The ones that are finished on forage will spend the remaining 20% eating grass as well as foraged grasses and alfalfa. Those that are finished on grain will spend the remaining 20% on a specialty selected diet of grains that are free of corn, soy, additives, and hormones.

  • All of our chickens spend their days out on pasture with access to a Non-GMO grain that is free from soy, corn, additives, and hormones.

  • Because we all have the right to choose the type of beef we prefer for ourselves and our families! We at the Bar W believe the most important thing to consider when choosing your beef is where it comes from and how it was raised. And since all of our animals are raised naturally, responsibility, and ethically, all that’s left is to decide your preferred flavor profile.

  • The exact space needed can vary since different cuts of meat are packaged in different ways and size/weight of each animal may vary at the time of processing. However, a good general idea would be:

A 1/2 beef will take up at least eight to 10 cubic feet of freezer space.

A 1/4 beef should fit into a 5-7 cubic foot chest freezer or would take up a quarter of small upright freezer.
